10 Mile Race – Recommended training plan?

    I’m going to run a 10 mile (16K) race in October. What’s the recommended training plan to follow (or modify)?

    I’d recommend following a half marathon plan.

    You could either do a half-marathon plan (like Gerald said) and just reduce the volume by about 10% or do a 10k plan and increase the volume a little.
    21k plan is more aimed at endurance with longer Zone 2 and race pace (Zone X) efforts. And a 10k plan is a bit more focused on threshold work (Zone 3). So depending on your fitness level and your race goals, you could choose either of those two training plans and just do some minor adjustments.
