I doing the 5k level 2 plan currently and wanted to ask about adjusting a week for a B-race next week, as I am doing a 5K turkey trot on Thursday. This is on the 4th week of my plan, which I know isn’t the suggested week for a B-race, but it was what made the most sense with my schedule. I already swapped weeks 3 and 4 so I’d be on a recovery week the week of the race.
My question is regarding the best approach to the runs that week. The runs are: Rest, RF25 (x2), RHR26, RP3, RF29, and ER8. I believe I’m supposed to sub the hardest non-long-run workout for the race, which would be RP3 (according to estimated TSS on TrainingPeaks). The rest day should probably be moved to Wednesday before the race, right? What order would you suggest the other runs? Thanks for any advice!
I would suggest replace the the RHR26 with a Fast finish run and go in this order for next week:
Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: RFF45 (take this from the taper week of the plan)
