    Hi Guys,
    <div dir=”auto”></div>
<div dir=”auto”>I’m subscribed to a Tri plan for 70.3 via training peaks, however it’s a 21 week programme if I remember correctly, with me peaking for a theoretical race day at the start of February.</div>
    <div dir=”auto”></div>
<div dir=”auto”>My actual A race is going to be in early May, 13 weeks from the end of the 21 week programme.</div>
    <div dir=”auto”></div>
<div dir=”auto”>I want to ask what the best plan is going to be, pause this plan where I am now, go into a 12-13 week maintenance plan then pick this one up again at the right time to coincide with my race, or finish this and run another shorter 12 -13 week cycle in the run up to the race day, using the current programme finish date as a race simulation to benchmark the A race from.</div>
    <div dir=”auto”></div>
    <div dir=”auto”>Thanks</div>

I believe that your best course of action would be to have a plan that corresponds with your A race and ends on that date.  If you are in the middle of a plan that ends well before your A race, you will have your peak training way too early for the race.  Since there seems to be a significant gap in time, you also run the risk of burnout before you even peak for the A race.

This can be a great time to focus on your weakest of the 3 disciplines, weights, mobility etc while working on your base.
