Does anyone else here do any of your training by RPE? In other words, doing some of your workouts entirely by feel without watching power, pace, or heart rate during the workout. I started doing this sometime last summer and have stuck with it. It’s fun and really helpful. Easy runs are always easy. Moderate runs are always moderate. Without relying on technology to tell me what I’m doing, I’ve gotten better at paying attention to my own exertion cues (breathing…level of strain…feeling that I’m running out of steam, good for another few miles, or that I could go all day…etc.).

It’s also made race pacing much easier. Whatever the distance, I pretty much know what effort level is sustainable and will have me running out of steam at the end of the race. Just curious if anyone else has done the same.
