    Hi all,

I am about to start a Marathon level 2 plan; after having a good thought I have come to the conclusion that it is a tad too easy in terms of volume; on the other hand, a LVL3 plan might be slightly too much (plus, I don’t really want to run doubles).

What is the best way to bump my plan up to some sort of level 2.5?

Should I just extend all the easy runs 15/20′ and increase the amount of “hard” time accordingly, by keeping the same type of hard runs and just stepping it up a bit?

Or is it better to upgrade only one of my easy runs to a mid-long run (and if so, which day is the most indicated)?

Or should I do something else altogether? 🙂

    Any advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Matteo,

    Thanks for using our plans!

The Level 2 plan averages 7 hours per week, the Level 3 plan 9 hours per week. Therefore, I’ll use a base of adding about an hour a week to get you to 8 hours per week.

And, that’s and easy modification. Add 20 minutes to your longest run, and 20 minutes to the next two longest runs. Keep the shortest runs unmodified.

There’s your extra hour per week for a Level 2.5!

    Hi David,

Thanks a lot for your advice, I will definitely do something like that! 🙂
