I am about 30 days from my peak race, 50k occ, last week change country of residence, now in a sea level mostly flat place, difficulties to do long sessions above 2:45hrs….etc
Should I stick to the plan doing my best, focus on hill sessions? No stress and just relax?
Btw last year did leadville and 50k in april.

    G,

The timing does present challenges. As you approach your A race, your training should start to mirror the race environment as much as possible. A lack of altitude and lack of incline will have an impact on your training.

Yes, stick with the plan and run the hills as much as possible, even if you need to run up and down the same hill over and over.

Be prepared that your pace for a given perceived effort at altitude will decline after being at sea level for a month. There is not much you can do about that now. It won’t ruin your race, plenty of successful ultra athletes live at sea level.

Thanks Dave! Hopefully trainning in Mexico City altitude will hold. Juste one question, when you say to runnup and down you mesn during hill sessions or even during luke foundation runs?

    Cheers

Yes, because you’ll need to mimic your training to the course as much as possible, I’d include the hills even in Foundation runs.
