    Hi there!

I am coming into the home stretch of the Level 1 Build Endurance run plan and trying to decide what to do next. Prior to this I also did the Level 2 Run Maintenance plan to improve my base, and the first half of the Level 1 10k plan (ditched it when I realized I needed better endurance first).

My struggle is this: I am really loving running 6 days per week, and this has guided my level choices so far. But I am also really loving running 6-7 hours per week now that I’ve worked up to that volume, which generally makes Level 2 plans a good fit.

On the other hand, I would not consider myself anything close to an advanced athlete. My easy pace is like 13:00/mi so I’m only doing 30-35 mpw at this volume of training.

Would it be appropriate to do a Level 2 plan and either skip the day 1 recovery run each week, or add that time to my foundation runs throughout the rest of the week so I can still have one full rest day per week? Or would I be overreaching for my current level of ability? I like to use my rest day for PT exercises and yoga, especially when my long run was 10 miles or more.

That sounds like an excellent plan to me. You could easily do either option but since you are doing PT and Yoga on the “rest” day, I’d just skip the active recovery run

Thank you for the advice Gerald! I will do just that. Goal #1 is to not get injured after all!

You are welcome. I definitely don’t want to see you injured.
