I’m a new ultra runner doing the level 0 50k plan. My long run days are done at a pace of about 12-13 min mile. I’m pacing with HR and that’s the pace I land on for my HR zone. My question is that it seems like my distance is very low. Doing the math my longest run in the plan well be around 16 miles. Seems low to me compared to other plans where long run distance at longest is like 26 miles. Do I need to adjust something or is this normal for the training plan and I should just trust?
There should be weekends where you do double runs (Sat/Sun) with 2-3 hours each. That should be 8-12 miles each day. Combine that with the weekly volume and you should be set to go the distance without an overuse injury
Thanks. That would make since, however I don’t see any runs on my calendar for Sundays (using Training Peaks). Just one Saturday long run and my 4 during the week workouts. Also looked through the descriptions on a few of the longer planned weeks and it doesn’t say to double up. Maybe that’s the difference between the level 0 plan and the level 1 plan?
