I’m an older runner who has been plagued by injuries the past few years. I read the book almost a year ago and have been following the principles ever since. I’ve been injury free and enjoying my runs again. I currently run about 200 miles per month. Most of my runs are 60-75 minutes long, and once a week I do a long run of 12-18 miles. I’m running the NYC Marathon in November and will be following one of the plans, but I notice the mileage will be much less than I’m currently running. I don’t want to lost the fitness I’ve gained by running less, but don’t want to screw up a good train ing plan. How do I handle this?

Would you consider adding strength? Perhaps the addition of strength could help replace some of those miles, while also promoting general strength and power?

That’s a great idea. Thank you.
