Hi! From time to time my HR will spike up into Z3 at the beginning of a run while my pace is still very slow. I’ll often walk for a few seconds to bring it down. Sometimes I’ll have to do that a couple times before my HR returns to a normal range when compared to pace. Is this common? Should I be concerned? Do I need to do some more vigorous warm ups before heading out?
    Thanks!
    Matt

Totally normal. It’s called heart rate overshoot and its actually an indication of fitness. Nothing to be concerned about.
