I am doing the cycling plan for gran Fondo up to 120km, and I am concerned that the intervals are not hard enough. I feel like I could do more when I finish the interval sets. I am not feeling destroyed. Is this normal? Is this the 80/20 approach coming through intervals?
Additional information: I ride on Zwift in regular mode, not erg mode, with a smart trainer when doing these intervals.
Have you done an initial FTP/Threshold test to ensure your zones are set correctly?
I would say our high intensity sessions are not designed to “destroy” you, and you should finish the higher intensity sessions (Tuesday/Thursdays in the Fondo Plan) feeling like you worked hard by not to the point where you will not be able to do your workout the next day.
