    Hi guys,

I have a full Ironman on 5 March and then my first 100miler 27 May (12Weeks later). Have have both the IM and 100M plans from 80/20 but the IM plan only has 3 runs a week. My current thought pattern is to follow the IM plan but add in another long run (Zone2/Easy) on the weekends to have back2back run days so that my legs get use to running on tired legs. Then after IM in March, recover 2 weeks but then follow the 100M plan mostly but instead of 5 runs a week, keep it at 4 with some cross training. Goals for IM is to finish feeling comfortable as its my B race and the A race being the 100M, is purely just to finish within the cut-off time.

Looking for advice and thoughts on my thought pattern please.

    Thank you Kindly,
    Scott

    Scott,
Seeing as the 100m is the A race adding in some additional Zone 2 runs during your Ironman plan will help, a few other options to consider; adding in short brick runs after your bike sessions 10-30mins (specific for triathlon but also adds in quality run volume across the week, double run days on long runs days. Do you normally planned long run in the am, and then add in an easy 20-60min easy run that evening. Will help for running tired legs, specific to both an Ironman and a 100miler.. You would keep that second run on RPE and add in walk breaks so you don’t overdo things.
    Happy Training
