    Hello,
I am training for the Boston Marathon using your Level 2 pace-based plan.
    Race day is April 17.
The plan has the last long and hard workout, a Marathon Pace Run, scheduled for 2 weeks before, April 3. However, due to some unexpected travel, the last day that I would realistically be able to complete that MP run would be 4 days earlier, on March 29 (or possibly March 30). I could still shuffle things around to do all the other planned workouts on other days, but it’s that long MP run that really won’t be doable for me after March 29/30.
I realize this isn’t ideal, but I’m wondering if you could provide me with any guidance and recommendations on how to customize the plan in such a way that the last MP long run is 17 or 18 days before Race Day, as opposed to the prescribed 14 days before.
    Thanks!
    Josh

    Hey S.

Doing the long run 4 days earlier should not have a impact on your taper period. It gives you a little longer recovery and that’s not a bad thing sometimes. Just be sure to stick with the taper program itself and don’t shy away from the small sections of intensity that help to keep your running legs primed whilst you remove some fatigue.

Good luck at Boston! Hope you have a great day.

    Leyla
