Hey! I’m looking for some guidance on an appropriate plan. I am brand new to multisport and I have an Olympic Triathlon in July 2023.
I want to start the level 0 Olympic and the right time however between now and then I’d like to start working on my foundations and thought that a maintenance plan would be great. The problem I am finding is that the maintenance plans are a bit too much for me! I wondered if there were some less intense maintenance plans?
Our Triathlon maintenance plans only currently come in one level for triathlon at the moment but an easy adjustment would be to reduce the workouts down to 2 swims, 2 bikes and 2 runs per week. As this plan is designed in phases it doesn’t really impact the plan much on which workouts you miss out. Another approach would be to maintain 3 sessions for your sport that needs work, and reduce the other 2 down to 2 sessions per week. Swimming is usually a great way for athletes to build their skills and fitness with lower risk in the pre season.
