I am using the 80/20 24 week level 0 100 mile plan because of my availability to run 5 days a week. If, on the weekends, I run with friends on trails, would it be detrimental to my training if I go longer than the prescribed time on the plan. The runs would still be at low intensity like the plan states but may go 1/2 hour to 1 hour longer than on the plan.
    Thanks in advance.

Personally, I think it would be best to stick as close to the plan as possible. The plan is designed with a gradual build up, as well as recovery weeks to allow your body to respond to training, and adapt to the load. Adding additional hours too soon or too often could lead to injuries and set backs.
I always encourage people to run with friends because community is so important. In this case, it would be adventageous to let them run longer while you stick with your plan as closely as possible.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information @coachanne. This is something we’ve done regularly for a while but I can back off the time I am out there to be sure I recover properly.
