Hi ! I am currently training for a full IM it will be my third, I see the longest run is 2hr 15 min I am mostly a 6 hour marathon runner. Do I adjust to distance on my long runs ? or all the runs ? what is the longest run I should do ? or do i follow the plan with time instead ?

Jessy, thanks for posting! can you confirm which 80/20 plan you are using. The longest run should be longer than 2:15.

The longest run you should do in IM training is 3 hours. Yes, for you that will be a bit lower mileage, but the most you can really absorb in IM training is 3 hours on the run, regardless of the distance.

Thank you ! found the 2 hr 44 min run. I am doing the level 2 IM training. Just wanted to confirm that I should go by time instead of mileage. I completely trust the process just needed confirmation as what to go by.

Jessy, you can go 3 hours on your longest run up from 2:45. We just have to make our best assumptions about a Level 1 athlete, and our default is 2:45 as the longest run for that plan. If you can recover fast enough for the next week, 3 hours is good.
