Hello, how can LTHR be determined from a 5K? Also

    Thanks!

You can use the data from the race in our calculator found here

Once you have the new information,  make sure you update your zones in Training Peaks in order for your workouts to update with your new information.

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Anne,

    Thanks for the reply.
I wanted to confirm a few things. Around 12 weeks ago I did a 20 minute test and ran 8:30 min/mile pace and my average HR was 175. I was able to run the 5k in 24:38 so 7:56 min/mile. My heart rate averaged 179 for the entire run. At about 4 minutes in my HR average was 183 for the remainder of the run after it increased and somewhat leveled off. Both values are within a 2% difference. Would it be better to use he average after leveling off or for the entire run?

    Thanks again!

When you heart rate value stops increasing and levels off, that value would be your LTHR. You can enter that value in to the calculator to update your HR zones.

    Happy training!
