Modifying this week’s Marathon training to run the Thanksgiving 5K

    Hello,

    I am following Marathon level 1 pace based training plan and I am currently in week 11.

    This week calls for:

    Tues – RSS10 (Steady State Run) 55min

    Wed – RF27 (Foundation Run) 50min

    Thurs – RF27 (Foundation Run) 50min

    Fri – RA4 (Accelerations Run) 47min

    Sat – RF27 (Foundation Run) 50min

    Sun – RL32 (Long Run) 15.5miles

    I plan to run the 5k on Thurs.  Around 7min pace or faster.

    Should I just scrap the Thurs Foundation run or take out the Fri accelerations run and do the foundation run on Fri?  Should I make any other changes to this week’s training?

    Training is going well and I want to keep the progress going!

    If I was making modifications, I would move the Thursday run to Friday and use the 5K in lieu of the Accelerations run. You’ll probably need to add a warm up and cool down to the 5K so the time is about the same. Hope that makes sense.
