    Hello.

I am going for vacation with family for Nordic skiing. I will be on the last taper week right prior to 100M race. I know it’s a bad plan, but I could not do the other way around. Normally I ski for 2-3 hours every day and come back home pleasantly exhausted. I know it’s not a option at this time. I can avoid skiing altogether if you suggest so as don’t want to risk the race. What would you recommend?

Yury, Nordic skiing is one of the best and closest exercises to running. I routinely have my athletes ski in pace of running. Ideally, you would continue your plan as written, but perform it skiing. Intervals, duration and all, just perform it as written for the run, but for skiing.

Certainly 2-3 hours a day is not recommended in place of the volume the plan recommends, but you have to have some fun too!

So, feel free to ski and keep it as close as possible to the run plan.
