I recently completed my first full season using 80/20, including the maintenance plan last off-season, a short racing weight plan, and then two 19 week blocks of level 2 70.3 plans leading into races in June and October. I’ve had a solid year and seen great progress.

Heading into this offseason, I’d like to focus on my swim technique (I’m a classic adult onset swimmer) and bike power. For the swim, my goal is to get into the pool about 5 times a week, doesn’t have to be high volume, but high frequency. And primarily work on technique, including some drills. For the bike, I’m thinking two key workouts a week doing hard intervals will be helpful in building a base of power for the next season.

With those goals in mind, what suggestions do you have for modifying the maintenance plan?

    Hi Kevin,
I would actually recommend looking at our Swim Strong Programs and our FTP builder plans. Both of these are great to do during your off/pre season to work on swim technique and Bike Power. You can then compliment these plans with easy running.

You can buy these plans outright or consider our subscription service for the off season so you have access to these plans and our strength programs as and when needed.
