I’m signed up for an Olympic Race in mid September but am also eyeing the Half Ironman at Indian Wells in december. Is this enough time to ramp up my distances? The swim distance isn’t that much longer, for biking i’m not worried about the distances as I’ve been doing weekly 30+ mile rides for last year ish. The challenge may be the run as I’ve never done a half marathon. Is that time period enough to go from running a 10k to a 20k?

It would be plenty of time for most but not all athletes. It depends a bit on certain limiters–age, BMI, musculoskeletal health, etc. Plenty of first-timers (and others) run/walk the half marathon. Doing so does not equal failure.
