Does 8020 prescribe over under workouts? I haven’t seen them in 70.3 or Ironman training plans yet. I see other platforms use them, and I have read that they are powerful for increasing FTP.

8020’s Zone 3 workouts are essentially “under”, and the short zone 4-5 intervals I see in other workouts have zone 1 recovery after the z4-5, not zone 3 intervals as far as I can tell.

I know they have them in running plans as there is one on my 5K plan later on, not sure about for cycling.

Ted, great call-out. We don’t yet have those O/U in the tri plans, they are just in the run plans now. They are slated to be added to the O/U plans in the next major revision of the tri plans.

Checking in on this from last November, any update on when that revision to the tri plans is expected?

Ted, thanks for keeping me accountable on this. We have a major revision of the tri plans in the pipeline, but it also does continue to be slotted after other priorities (new website, coach certification, Final Surge launch, Virtual Cycling Club to name a few recent projects).

It’s in the works, but I think we’re looking at summer of 2024 as the earliest release.
