I have been training for Olympic tri for most of the year following L3. Then 1 month before it would cancel then I would bake up my plan and restart for the next one until mid July I finally just pulled the plug after all race were cancelled and took 2 weeks of less than 4 hours Training each. I have now found a small half iron distance in October. 9 weeks out. Going to just jump in half L2 plan at 9 weeks out and go with it. I was just wondering if u see that being an issue good or bad. I have 18 years of steady racing at all distances.

Clay, with 9 weeks remaining, you’ll be jumping in at Week 11 of the L2 plan. 11 hours a week and a long run 1.5 hours and long bike of 2.5. Instead, I recommend starting on Week 10 (a rest week) then go to week 11, then skip week 12 and do week 13. That will give you an easier ramp to climb for the first 3 weeks.

You can also always switch down to the L1 plan for a few weeks as well to loosen up, and than back to the L2 for the final ~6 weeks.
