    Hello, sorry for my bad English, but I’m Italian…
    I would like to buy your Level 2 Marathon plan to prepare the Barcelò Marathon (19 march, 2023), but from now there are only 15 weeks and the length of the plan is 18 weeks.
    Do you think it’s possible to star the plan from 4th week, considering the following circumstances:
    – I run “ab immemorabili”;
    – I ran a dozen of marathons in my life;
    – Actually, I use to run every day (streakrunning, 65/70 km per week)
    – The last marathon I ran was the Milano Marathon (April 3rd, 2022; time 3:42′)
    – Actually my long runs are 18/20 km long (1:40′-1:45′)
    – I’m 59 years old.
    Many thanks for your replay!
    Best regards.
    Marco

    Hi Marco,

    What matters more is not what you’ve done in the past but what your recent training has been like. If you’ve been running at least fives per week and up to 20 km in your longest runs over the past several weeks, then you should have no trouble picking up the Level 2 plan in Week 4. However, if all of your recent running has been at low intensity, you may need to dial back the first several moderate/high-intensity workouts to avoid injury.

    Coach Matt
