Question for the coaches. Been out for about 6 months with inflamed hip bursa. 56 year old fairly casual runner.

Hip is getting better (I’m not asking for any medical advice ! ) and I can now do 5k cross cross country (have to stop a couple of times to get my breath back).

I have a half marathon in 22 weeks. Previously I used the level1 power plan. I was thinking of doing the Starting out/starting over level 1 power plan. Will that prep me for the level 1 HM plan? Is there a better approach.

    Many thanks

I forgot to say. I don’t have the facility to cross train as set out in the Starting over plan. What would I do instead?

After lengthy break due to injury I would recommend getting your base back with the starting out starting over plan. Cross training is any form of cardiovascular exercise other than running – walking can be a great option if you don’t have access to a any gym equipment, swimming or cycling options.

Good luck with your return to training and be patient with your progression.
