Hi, I want to train for an Ironman 70.3 that is 15 weeks away, but the shortest 8020 training plans for this event are 18 weeks long. How would I go about modifying a plan (I anticipate purchasing either a level 0 or level 1 plan) for this type of time frame? I am fit enough to start one of these plans, so that is not an issue. I just now decided to compete in this event. Thanks for the help!
If you have a base of fitness and then you can simply apply the plan your calendar with the end date specified and start the plan in Week 4. You may wish to switch out week 4 with week 3 so that you start on a transition week – which is slightly lower volume and includes the opporutnity to do some baseline testing to set up your 80/20 Zones.
