    Hi there.

I’m new to the forum (and can’t seem to find a search function to check if this question has been asked before).

I have an 18 week half ironman program but unfortunately have only 14 weeks to go before my event.

I’m wondering if its fine for me just to pick this plan up at week 4 (into 18 weeks).

I’m on the medium volume plan.

While I may be a tad unfit at the moment, I have done 3 half ironmans before and regularly trained and raced for triathlon.

    Thanks in advance

    Daz,

Thanks for posing on the forums! That’s the most common practice. It can be a bit risky if you are not ready to go right into ~9 hours of training.

If you have the Level 1 plan, I’d recommend you switch to the Level 0 plan for 4-6 weeks, and then go back to the Level 1 plan (you can do that for free with our Level Guarantee at https://www.8020endurance.com/contact/).

If you are already on the Level 0, you’re probably OK, as Week 4 of that plan is light for just about any athelte.

Thanks David! Sounds sensible. I’ve put in a request to downgrade.
