Switching from Maintenance to Main Plan

    I am currently mid-way through a triathlon maintenance plan but will need to start my main Sprint plan before finishing the maintenance plan.

    What do people do to make the switch in TrainingPeaks? Do you just overlap the two plans? and delete overlapping maintenance workouts? Do you end-date the original maintenance plan to end a day before the sprint plan starts? Or just entirely remove the original maintenance plan?

    If you want to pick the plan back up again after the sprint plan, I would probably just move the individual workouts manually to start on the first day after the sprint plan ends. Make sure the dates of the sprint plan are clear and then insert it. This will save you from having to do a lot of deleting of workouts and trying to discern which ones are part of which plan.

    For me, I usually just remove the maintenance plan. The workouts completed will stay on the calendar. Then I can restart the maintenance plan again if need at the beginning of set it to end where I want depending on my goal. If I need an off period, I star at the beginning, if I need a bridge, I start in the middle.

    The other option, that I’ve done for future planning when I know I have a few short weeks (≤4 weeks) is copy and paste the workouts I want to use and then remove the plan. The copied workouts stay behind. I find it useful but because of the work, need it to obviously be short.
