I just signed up for the Grand Fondo Level 2 plan – my first time ever using a formal training plan.
The plan is based around about 10 hours of cycling a week. As a Randonneur, I expect to be doing 5, 10 hour rides at least once or twice a month, and in the spring, even much longer rides.
Wonder if anyone else is in the same boat, and how you adjusted your training plan?

    thanks!

The level 2 gran fondo plans have a transition week every 3 weeks and this could be a good weekend to do your longer rides after a week of slightly reduced volume.

    Hope that is helpful.

I do randonneuring. Did a whole Super Rando series and 1000km earlier this year. I have not done the 8020 cycling plans, I use 8020 plans for triathlon. However, when I am mainly training for cycling, I do interval workouts during the week and just replace my long ride with the brevet. Since brevets are often on weekends, I just track TSS from Friday to Friday and adjust the following week’s workouts to stay in an adequate range. Hope this helps.
