Training Peaks Structured Workouts Question

    Just finishing up my first week with using structured workouts with training peaks while training for a marathon in April.

    I feel like I read in some places on this site that my zones automatically adjust with my inputs from Training peaks. But then I feel I read in other places that I need to test and set my zones.

    Can someone clarify which is it?

    I have enjoyed the first week – just want to make sure I am doing this right!

    You’ll note that in TP if you go to Settings and Zones, at the bottom you’ll see two options. One to notify you if a new threshold is detected, and other to automatically apply a new threshold if detected. We recommend that you leave both off.

    TP does it’s best to guess your threshold based on training, but it guesses badly. Instead, test your thresholds through field testing through our Intensity Guidelines documents.
