I am planning on doing a Sprint Triathlon in 6 months however I don’t currently meet the base requirements set out in the plan.

“This plan is intended for individuals with a goal of finishing their first sprint triathlon. Before you begin, you should be comfortably able to swim and run for 30 minutes, cycle for 45 minutes, and successfully complete at least three total hours of aerobic exercise over seven days.”

Is there a prep plan to get from 0 to what is required or how do I do this?

Congratulations on taking the first step towards a sprint triathlon!

The first place I would begin would be to begin exercising consistently (assuming you aren’t now). A walk / run, short bike ride and a swim a few days a week will start creating the habit of working out and begin getting you ready for your goal. Set small goals (such as walking 3 days a week, or going to the pool to swim laps every Saturday morning) to begin the process. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you are able to meet the “requirements” before you begin.

That being said, I’m making an assumption that you will be able to begin exercise without any significant issues. If there is something that may keep you from any thing I have mentioned, please speak to your Dr before beginning. I hope this helps!

Best of luck!! The triathlon world is a fun place to be!
