In the off-season of this year I want to focus on improving my swimming and, therefore, I have booked some swim courses. Now the location of the swim course is a 30 min bike ride away, which makes a nice Z1/Z2 foundation ride in each direction. I noticed that the triathlon maintenance training plan flips around the bike and run days, so I can’t easily move the training plan start/end to have a day that fits roughly what I’m doing. Any suggestions on how to best adapt the training plan around fixed day group training sessions? Is the triathlon maintenance plan in general good as base for the off-season?

Feel free to move workouts around within the week as it fits to your schedule. My best suggestion would be to keep the workouts to only 1 or even 2 per day (if the plan has 2 on a day).

The good thing is that you are in the off season, so it’s easy to be flexible!

    Hope that helps!
