    Hi 8020 team,

I really like 8020, but subscriptions don’t work out for me as I don’t change plan often enough. When will the masters plans be available on a purchase per plan basis?

I’ve has to pull out of a race after 10 weeks of following the HML2 plan, phone a physio and book a steroid injection 🙁 so am cheering myself up with planning my comeback.

    Hey FD,

Our Masters Run plans are all available in the TrainingPeaks plan store. You can find the half marathon plans here:

    https://www.trainingpeaks.com/training-plans/running/half-marathon/?language=en&sort.field=soldCount&sort.dir=desc&keyword=80%2F20+Masters&index=0

For all masters plans you can search 80/20 Masters and you will see the full range of masters plans from 5km to Marathon.

Good luck with your return to training! Hope the comeback beats the setback.

    Cheers

Fantastic thanks. I was looking on this (the 8020) website which it looks like has not been updated.

So just looking at the masters plan and the sample week. I don’t have access to any gym equipment (hence why I run). I do have a crappy QVC static bike (if Mrs FatDad does not complain about my sweating all over it), but its not ideal. I’m wondering what I can do for the cross training. Could I just do a foundation run for the same zones?

The purpose of the cross training is to help injury prone or masters athletes work on their conditioning without as much running load as our standard plans. I would not recommend replacing the cross-training with an additional run if you are choosing the masters plans for this reason. I would recommend considering making these cross training sessions walk sessions or on soft trails if you don’t have access to any other form of cross training.

    Cheers

having been to the Physio today who said I was overloading on running, that is good advice.
