Hello! Reading Run Like a Pro by Matt, it talks about spending 80% of training slower than the VT1 threshold. Using his example in the book, the VT1 appears to be Zone 1 in the 8020 zone calculator. The training plans however have most of the time in Zone 2 – which is faster than the VT1 pace recommended in the book.
Can you please provide some insight to help my confusion?
As far as I know (and I am pretty sure about this one 🙂 ), VT1 is the upper limit of Z2, and not Z1, so the training plans are consistent with this.
